Andrea Demopulos cares about each client she serves, aiming to become their loan officer for life. Many times, she gets to know clients so well that she ends up processing loans for their entire family.  
Process-oriented but full of heart, Demopulos, vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate Affinity, brings something extra to the transaction table: experience as a loan processor and a licensed Realtor. "Both real estate and mortgage lending offer the same gratification that comes from helping clients through the homebuying process," she says.  
In the industry for 22 years, Demopulos started in lending as a loan processor for a family mortgage brokerage, where she stayed for five years before leaving to pursue a full-time career as a licensed Realtor. She sold real estate for five more years until the market tightened in 2009 and she returned to mortgage lending.  
Demopulos specializes in first-time homebuyers, down payment assistance programs and VA, USDA, FHA and conventional loans. "Patience is the one skill that has been instrumental to my success in lending," she remarks. "If you stop and take the time to understand the borrower's needs, the needs of the process and your team, it helps foster stronger relationships. Also, knowing the guidelines!"  
Demopulos educates borrowers on the lending process before it begins, always making sure to answer all of their questions and gain an understanding of their needs. Through these conversations, the people she serves develop trust in her and the process. Not surprisingly, most of Demopulos' clients come as referrals from Realtors and past clients impressed by her problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to change.  
To give back, Demopulos sits on the board of Keep Angleton Beautiful, an organization focused on the local environment.
